Nuclear Pressure Vessel Manufacturing
in South Wales, UK
High-Integrity Fabrication for Regulated Nuclear Supply Chains
LTi Vessco supports the UK nuclear sector with bespoke and low-volume pressure vessels and fabricated systems manufactured to meet stringent quality, documentation, and inspection requirements. From our facility in Bridgend, South Wales, we deliver high-integrity pressure equipment for nuclear environments where compliance, traceability, and long-term reliability are non-negotiable.
Nuclear-Grade Manufacturing Capability
Nuclear projects demand disciplined engineering control and a structured route to manufacture. LTi Vessco provides nuclear-grade capability across the full fabrication lifecycle, including:
-
Manufacture of bespoke pressure vessels and containment systems
-
Large-scale and complex fabrications requiring sectional manufacture
-
Controlled forming, fit-up, and coded weld execution
-
Integration of inspection hold points and verification stages
-
Manufacture aligned to customer specifications and nuclear project requirements
Our low-volume, bespoke capability allows us to support technically complex equipment where geometry, duty conditions, or integration constraints prevent standardised solutions.
Hinkley Point C
LTi Vessco recently manufactured a large deaerator pressure vessel for the turbine island at Hinkley Point C (HPC) - one of the UK’s most significant nuclear infrastructure projects.
This pressure vessel combines a deaerator and feedwater tank in a single integrated design, supporting efficient removal of dissolved gases from boiler feedwater to improve turbine efficiency and reduce corrosion risk.
Project highlights include:
-
Exceptional scale – weighing over 330 tonnes, one of the largest fabrications undertaken by LTi Vessco
-
Sectional manufacture – fabricated in sections at our South Wales facility and transported to site for final assembly
-
Performance-critical duty – engineered to meet demanding operational and compliance requirements for nuclear power generation
This project demonstrated our ability to deliver large, complex pressure equipment within regulated nuclear environments.
Engineering Controls & Quality Assurance
To meet nuclear supply-chain expectations, LTi Vessco applies defined engineering controls and quality assurance measures throughout manufacture, including:
-
Material identification and full traceability to maintain complete provenance
-
Cleanliness controls aligned to nuclear project requirements
-
Qualified welding procedures and inspection hold points on critical joints
-
Disciplined documentation and verification to support compliance and audit requirements
-
Safety-first manufacturing practices for both fabrication teams and end users
These controls provide confidence that pressure equipment is supplied ready for integration into nuclear systems, supported by robust documentation.
Commitment to Excellence in the Nuclear Sector
LTi Vessco is committed to the standards expected of nuclear supply chains. Achieving and maintaining Fit for Nuclear (F4N) reflects our focus on continual improvement, robust management systems, and a quality culture where accountability and collaboration are built into daily operations.
We are also proud members of the Wales Nuclear Forum, supporting collaboration and capability development within the sector.
